My first spiral cut experiment using a jig saw on some Phyllostachys aurea scraps.
The piece on the left was cut green and heated with a flame /gas propane torch. It expanded considerably.
The middle piece was cut dry and heated as above. It didn't expand as much.
The one on the right was cut green, and expanded naturally on drying.
