Bamboo at the Memphis Zoo, Tennessee USA

These photos were taken at the Memphis Zoo the day before Thanksgiving... November 23. 2005. at the Memphis Zoo.
The reason I went there was to see Bamboos and I did found whole lot of them, then of course I got to see the Panda Bears as well...

Phyllostachys nigra - Black Bamboo

Phyllostachys aurea - Golden Bamboo
There are lots of Phyllostachys aurea bamboos all over the zoo. They are also easy to tell, I only have to look at the base of the culms and I will see some of them have compressed internodes on the culms.

Arundinaria gigantea
There are also whole bunch of Arundinaria gigantea, the reason I know them is because I have some of them in my yard...

Phyllostachys vivax ??
There were also some young and good looking green bamboos I can't ID I think they are young Vivax but I am not so sure may be you can tell...
