We have a bamboo fence that separates our grove from the sidewalk and road of an urban city street.
Someone found that the bamboo weave-work was a handy place to insert an advertisement flyer.
In this case we felt it was acceptable, and left it there.
It was gone in a couple of days...business must have picked up!
