We visited a D.latiflorous plantation that was for the production of shoots.This propagation method was used and was their main method for getting additional starts which were needed to bring their canning facility up to capacity.The output is shipped to Japan.

Very interesting.
There doesn't appear to be any new/fresh culms in the clump of bamboo, so would this procedure be undertaken prior to shoot emergence?
