Bamboo building workshop with sustainable architect Darrel DeBoer
Purpose: To learn how to build with bamboo for affordability, aesthetics, and low environmental impact. Project: Sustainable architect Darrel DeBoer, author of Bamboo Building and Culture, will lead a workshop to make a multipurpose building out of bamboo and straw bales.
Bamboo is stronger than steel in tension. It is lightweight and easy to grow and harvest without machines. Bamboo needs just a few simple solutions:
appropriate growth/harvest/preservation, joinery, and protection from sun and rain. In this workshop you will learn about all of these things.
Participation (for both days) = $65 to PNWCABS $25 deposit will hold your space. Call early to sign up for limited work-trade
