Hello All,

I have a question about raw materials. I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the proper forum, but I did not see anything about products or supplies. My question concerns bamboo rhizome, which I am currently getting from a supplier in China. While the source I have for rhizome is very good, communication is a problem (I don't speak Mandarin) and this problem has recently cost me a fair bit of money. What I'm wondering is if anybody knows of a supplier of bamboo rhizome in raw form who might be a little closer to home. What I mean by "raw form" is that it can't have been torched, varnished, or bent into particular shapes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just figured since you all are the crafts(wo)men you would be best acquainted with the suppliers. Since this is probably not a topic of collective interest you are more than welcome to e-mail me privately at tmjohnso@samford.edu.

Thanks in advance,

Todd
