These bamboo fish shaped magnetic holders are great to hold paper notes, pictures etc on any metal surface, like a refrigerator or metal cabinet door etc.
When making these, if the magnetic strip is to go on the outer culm surface, it needs to be made flat in that area, to ensure that the magnetic strip will adhere and provide good contact onto the metal surface.
A magnet of sufficient strength needs to be used secure both the bamboo and the paper it is holding up.
