It is a great honour to be able to show one of Angels bamboo saxophones instrument!
I have met Angel, seen his instruments, and heard his music.
His instruments are of the highest quality, professionally tuned, and a work of art !! They can be shipped worldwide.
Angel says...
"This instrument is the result of an experiment that I have been researching since a long time ago, of increasing the size of some of the bamboo cylinders.
It is a bit complicated to explain, but briefly, if one is to increase the size of bamboo to make a bamboo saxo´phone
(inspired by getting a louder sound), this usually results in an
instrument that is very difficult to tune and control, and toneholes became huge.
In this instrument, bamboo diameters are bigger, making a more prominent instrument. This requires an absolute equilibrium.
These are some of the challanges about the fine details of my work."
Angel will be at the annual event of the Asociacion Argentina de
Luthiers this Friday ( Sept 7 2001). (In Argentinean Spanish, "Luthier" means "instrument maker" instead of "string instruments maker")
