The legs from this creature (http://www.bamboocraft.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=629) are made from the twin branch section of Phyllostachys species.
The culm has been cut off near the branching part, leaving enough of it to act as a dowel, to attach to the body. see details here (http://www.bamboocraft.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=630)
Using the natural joinery of the bamboo makes this creature looks spindley but is strong!
The mane is made from a tassel that was part of a window curtain.
