Thanks for sending these wonderful pictures of the bamboo wind chime, and construction techinques. I think I can hear them too!

When we work and play with bamboo, can feel the natural sounds of music that it resonates. This is a way that bamboo way that bamboo can bring us together, through it's musical voice!
Bamboo wind chimes provide an excellent means of exploring kinetics (the study of the relationship of moving objects and the forces that affect motion).
Wind chimes and mobiles also enable us to experiment with bamboo using abstract ideas, and to develop construction techniques as we learn.
The chimes that I have made were never tuned to any particular note, but were made to make sounds similar to a passing flock of squawking geese, or the sound of a babbling brook... the have more like a clinkity clunkity sound.
It's been a while since I last made one ..I'm getting hungry for the sound...so, Thanks for the inspiration!

Wind Chime Rhodo (http://www.bamboocraft.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=664) : Rhododendron branch and Phyllostachys flexuosa chimes

After a few years of weathering and cracking, the sound of this chime improved remarkably !!! (wish I could say the same about myself)
