Does anyone know of a company selling the plastic (nylon?) ties used in Hong Kong bamboo scaffolding? From a YouTube video it looks like tape or plastic strapping.
Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,
I'm also looking for plastic strip to tie bamboo culms. Any idea ?

How about using the plastic cable ties? They come in different sizes and colors and are available at your local building supply store.

I have found that black poly tree rope works well. It is available in various strengths and styles. I used a single ply instead of 3 or 2-strand twisted as it forms around the wood beams and culms well with multiple wraps. It is also small enough to use with an oversized sail needle. Our local ag supply, Pioneer Equipment in Reedley, CA, handles it. Check out a recent YouTube video during a windy rain storm:

The framework for the first floor is done and the two beams for the second floor, 10' higher, in place. Decking is two layers of 3/4" sandwich panels, paper honeycomb faced with Formica, and edges taped and sealed with epoxy/fiberglass. A 30" x 123" panel is less than 50 pounds.

JIm,
You are way more advanced than the plastic cable ties!
The poly tree rope (http://www.polyexcel.com/tree_rope.htm) seems to work well in your design and is very strong.
Your tree house looks great in the video with the sound of the bamboo rustiling in the wind.
