Prbly difficult to answer Bamboo Questions

Hi guys,

I am working with tropical bamboo in Puerto Rico, and I have the following questions:

1) Does anyone in here know of environmentally safe and sustainable methods of curing bamboo? (In other words, an alternative to borax and boric acid).

2) Does anyone in here know of environmentally safe fire retardants for bamboo?

3) Does anyone in here know of a source of D. sinicus (plants or seeds)?
