Has anyone heard of phyllostachis dulcis turning brown on the top 4 feet?
The top 4 feet of each culm dies after about 6 months of age. The adjacent semi-arundinaria fastuosa is healthy, beautiful, doing great.
After Katrina it happened the first time. The plants had been in the ground for 3 years at that time and were beautiful. Katrina turned them all brown and brittle. I cut them out. They grew back green and pretty and at 6 months they turn brittle and brown on top.
Has anyone any ideas about this?
