Hello, I purchased Pseudosasa Japonica (Arrow Bamboo) from two different nursery's last year. One here on the east coast in MA and the other from L.A. The nursery from the East coast stopped selling it the other day, due to flowering. I inspected My Bamboo that I purchased from them, last year and sure enough two of the plants flowered. In addition, just yesterday I received seven more plants from LA and planted them before I had the knowledge, that this particular type of bamboo was flowering. All of the plants that I have from LA show no signs of flowering. I contacted the nursery via E Mail and was told to remove the flowers and hope for the best. That did not sound optimistic. Do you think that all of my bamboo will come to flower or not? Is there any updated advice that you can offer? Thanks, Ken

You should save the seeds and sell them on ebay or trade them off for bamboos. I wouldn't mind growing more bamboos from seeds. Would you mind sending me a few seeds to try once they are ripe?

Steve,
If Kenny follows the advice of the nursery and cuts off the flowers - there won't be any seeds.
