I am an organic grower, and while I've had great luck growing through the last three mega-draught summers, I need some water to get plants going, before the roots are deep enough to access moist soil. I found a piece of aluminum gutter and harvested some bamboo, which I connected together with sissal tied hitches.
I've been reading about curing bamboo and whatnot, and expect that such green bamboo will have insect problems. I intentionally built the structure to be biodegradable, but hopefully not too quickly. I'm going to find some rocks to put under the feet to prevent soil moisture from keeping the bamboo from curing.
next time I think I'll try roasting and wiping the bamboo over a wood fire.
