I am sending in a picture of Akio Hizume's Bamboo Star Cage. This was
created in October 1999, and is on display at Zilker Botanical
Gardens, Austin Texas.

This sculpture consists of ten foot lengths of sixty poles of
Phyllostachys species approx. one inch in diamter.
Akio, who resides in Tokyo, Japan, says:
"My sculpture will talk many things to you for a long time after I
leave. My work strives for the eloquence of bamboo.
I believe that my work should represent the Hopes and Dreams of bamboo
cultures."
