How may one make a bamboo steamer for use in a wok or over a saucepan? Something like the ones sold on TV or in stores would be nice, but I'm open to considering other styles, as well. So far, I've only found (via Google) one web page that gave such instructions, but they were for a steamer that was intended for use over a campfire, not in a wok or over a saucepan.
Now that I live in Honduras, I have lots of bamboo available, but I'm not familiar with the different types to be able to tell you what kinds are growing here. There's even a small patch of it just down the street from me, and various sizes in many different places.
Any ideas?
