We've built a Bamboo kiln using a 40 foot container and which is heated from Steam. The steam is generated with the off cuts and scrap generated from Bamboo usage. There are misters in the kiln to keep relative humidity controlled as well as exhaust fans to control temp all on selenoid valve and switches to run automatically when the desire humidity percentage or temp is exceeded. We are about to attempt to dry round bamboo and creep the temp up as well as slowly decrease the moisture content of the bamboo by creating a schedule for the drying process.

What i'm interested in finding out if anyone has information regarding the program for drying say fresh Petung, which is treated and sun bleached but still relatively high moisture content. If there's a program out there that is already tried and tested and works please let me know. I would like to avoid attempting over and over.

The kiln will also be used to dry slits but assume there is little to no risk here. If you differ in opinion would love to hear from you. Thanks

stay green,
