New shoot in late august

My Phyllostachys Vivax previously with 2 shoots is now on August 18th putting up a 3rd shoot which is 2 months after the 2nd shoot. I also heard the shooting season is supposed to be only 6 weeks.

Is it normal for a new plant to continue shooting in late summer?
My moso is doing the same thing, just putting up a shoot every few weeks.

There are usually some fall shoots if the rain or watering in ample.

I have also been having a crazy shooting season with my temperates. I am still getting shoots out of my aurea, aureosulcata and Nigra. All others have put up shoots within the last 1 and a half months

I don't water my bamboos because it rains every other day, but I'm glad they keep shooting:)

Dang. I wish I was getting rain every other day. I get it like every other month. We are in a severe drought right now.
