recently discussing at work as to whether or not bamboo would be a viable heat source... as in a wood stove? any attempts?.... results?.....

Well when you burn bamboo the air pockets inside expand and eventually the air pocket burst open. Its like a small ticking time bomb. It is just better to use regular wood. Plus I am thinking because the bamboo is hollow, it probably won't hold the fire long. So your probably constantly feeding the fire.
