I would like a couple of tall bamboo plants for my indoor Miami office with no windows. My research leads me to Chimonobambusa Quadrangularis due to the artificial light. I have a couple of tall square black planters that will look magnificent with lot of green emanating!
When you buy a plant, does it come with just 1 branch, where do I order them and has anyone tried growing indoor bamboo?

While no bamboo truly does as well as a "houseplant" type plant inside, there are a few that will survive and do OK. You really have to watch the watering on them indoors. the suow should be fine for your needs, but it will need pretty intense light for it to grow well, not just ambient light from the overheads, unless you are in a REALLY bright office!

as for what the plants will look like, that will depend on the size you order. generally, with the quadrangularis plants, a one gallon will only be 1-2 feet high, with one to several small stems (culms). the larger the pot size, the larger your plant will be hight wise. you probably should consider ordering at least a 5 gallon size plant if you want instant results in the pots.

as for ordering, there are several online boo nurserys, and in your area, you should be able to hunt down suow at a retail nursery.

Best of luck!

Green Goddess,

How did the bamboo work out for you? I haven't had much luck growing bamboo indoors.
