I have experience working with metals and plastics and like to ask if any of you have any experience with drilling and tapping into Strand Woven bamboo.

My application is connecting parts by drilling and tapping holes in the end of panels (parallel with grain). Panel thickness will be around 35 mm (1.37"). Screw size will be either 1/4"-20 or M6.

I can use anchors (may cause cracking and splitting) or drill/tap directly into the panel. Please let me know if any of you have done deep drilling/tapping with good holding powers.

Thanks for your help
