I have a Phyllostachys Vivax from a 1 gallon plant that is putting up a close to 1/2 inch shoot at an angle. I am wondering if it is OK to straighten it, or load it with fertilizer in order to maximize the height of it. So far I'm just keeping the site mulched, and I add miracle grow every few days.
