Hi, I'm pretty new to working with bamboo. I actually haven't started yet, I've just been practicing knots.

The project I'm working on is to start building an armoire sized reptile cage for my iguana who should be outgrowing his current cage soon. And the goal is to use as few western methods as possible.

It's not that difficult a task for me to plan out, I'd start with lashing together poles to make a rectangular frame. The two side walls and back wall will be a panel made from many poles lashed tightly together (tight and close enough together that he can't get out, he's not that big yet). The roof and front door will be bamboo frames with coated wire mesh lashed (or otherwise attatched) to them.

The main problem I encounter when I put it together in my head, is that the Ibo knot lashes the poles together in a 't' shape. Which means a lot of poles sticking out the edges in such a way that I couldn't attatch the walls together in a way that would be secure enough to prevent escape.

The easiest solution would be if there were a way to lash two poles together at a right angle, but I'm not sure how possible that is, or how secure it would be.

If anyone with more experience has some insight, I would really appreciate it.

If all else fails, I'll just cheat and use nails\screws\bolts\glue\and all that lame stuff.
