Hi - has anyone or any company tried to produce bamboo lumber or laminate products in the US?

I am interested in exploring this - if you have any info, please post reply or link.

thanks!

Hello, all. This is my first post.

Like Kevboo, I'm interested in bamboo material that is glued-up into a large, dense object.

In my case, I'd like to use it for traditional sculpture.

Thanks,
Tom

I found this on the bambooweb forum:

laminated bamboo sold as decking for heavy equipment trailers, with panel thickness up to 3" and lengths up to 24'

THANKS, Greg ==

I read the link you posted and followed the links contained therein.

The dimensions available for that particular industrial flooring are not what I'm seeking...actually they're BIGGER than what I want(!) and that's a pretty good indication that I will find dimensional laminated planks 1x2 thru 1x10, as well as laminated 1/4" thru 3/4" panels (plywood).

Thanks a lot for that encouraging information.
Tom

Ahhhhh! Thanks a LOT for directing me to this website. You're right. It is in line with what I'm seeking. All distribution points are decidedly "West Coast" though, and I'm currently "dead centered" near Omaha.

These days, freight's a big factor, and the BambooHardwood.com site's Shipping Calculator only quotes per individual piece (wouldn't estimate quantity 10).

I'll study this some more, and venture a phone call if all looks good.

Thanks again,
Tom
