Hi, I have two quick questions: of these two multiplex varieties, which has the more 'weeping' effect, and which of all the B. Multiplex varieties has the most 'weeping' effect?
thanks!

Hi Max,
I don't have any personal experience with Golden Goddess so someone else will have to help out here.
I do have experience with Alphonse Karr. I know that Alphonse will get a LOT taller than Golden Goddess and it does not grow just straight up...
It you want a weeping bamboo - try Otatea acuminata spp. aztecorum

Hi Carole, that answers it just fine, thank you.
It's difficult to find bamboo here in South Africa but these two varieties are available to me, and possibly a few other B. Multiplex's in the near future. I have placed an order for seeds with "The Banana Tree" but I'm not holding my breath.
My ultimate goal is to find the most 'chicken-friendly' bamboos for the mixed Permaculture farm I'm starting, so that will mean 'clumpers' with maximum canopy cover/smallest footprint for use around nesting areas and also 'runners' that allow for foraging between culms. But that's another thread altogether...
Thanks again Carole,
Max
