I'm a stay-st-home mom looking for ideas on making crafts from bamboo. I don't know much about bamboo except that we use to have them all over the house when I was younger.
My husband does lawn service and a couple of his clients asked him to cut the overgrown bamboo patch on their backyard. I took some of the stuff he cut and used them as stakes in our garden.
I would like to get some ideas on what else I can with them and to maybe someday supplement our income.
Could use everyones expertise.
Thank You.

Hi JV,
Cruise around the forums and galleries to get some ideas.
There is a lot to learn about working with bamboo and it takes a lot of patience and practice.

One way to start is just by closer examining the pieces you have - cleaning them, de-branching and sorting is one way to go.

Try to be careful not to scuff or scratch the bamboo while you are working with it because the scratches will show up in your design - of course you could also try to use a flaw in the bamboo to build a design around.

Don't be afraid to experiment and let you creativity flow....

Feel free to post questions and we will do our best to try to provide assistance.

Wel'culm',
Carole
