bamboo strips

I'm looking for someone who can mill bamboo strips like those used in flooring though maybe a little thinner.
I would like to try using them to build a strip planked canoe or kayak. Traditionally, cedar strips 1/4 x 3/4 inch are used for their light weight, strength and rot resistance. From what I've read, bamboo is heavy compared to cedar so I'd like to use thinner strips, may 1/8 inch thick x 3/4 inch wide.

Does anyone have any ideas as to where i could get some?

I have spent the last 3 or so weeks searching the internet for this kind of strip as well. With no luck.

I sounds like we would like them for the same purpose! I am interested in making a strip canoe/kayak with bamboo, but my inability to locate a supply of the milled strips has me considering other options.

Currently I am considering using bamboo veneer to cold mold a boat. Also, there is a surfboard company which has developed a process using woven bamboo veneer to replace fiberglass. Both seem like exciting ideas.

I've had some success milling my own bamboo. The tough part for me now is finding high quality straight bamboo. I've been spoiled by using bamboo that I brought back from a kitemaker in Japan. But my supply is now almost gone and need to find a new supply.
