There's nearly an acre of it nearby. It's @8 inches across and @50 feet in height.

Not a very detailed picture but I'll take a stab at it.......It looks like giant Vivax to me......we have a large patch of it and it looks a lot like the bamboo in your picture.

Could also be Henin. Or even Moso. If it is Vivax it will usually have stress scars at the base of the culms. Moso has a fine velvety coating on the new culms.

Im leaning towards Henon because of the grey color of the older culms, Its hard to tell from the pic though. Definetly need better pics.
