For about 3 years, I've been trying to get my Buddha Belly bamboo to develop expanded nodes, without success. Via watering, where I let the leaves curl a bit between watering, I've kept the height down to 3-4 feet, so it can catch full sun every morning when indoors by my brightest window, but no "bellys!"
A friend suggests putting the plant in full sun, okay in Nashville during the warm months, but the shooting this year is already almost complete, so I won't be able to evaluate this until next year, since I don't have a greenhouse. How low a temperature is safe for this potted plant? He also suggests that there seems to be a bit of mystery about what proceedures consistently work, not very encouraging. Do any of you have additional suggestions?
Thanks, and all my best,
Mischa Z
