The Bamboo was put in ground 9/11/2007 and started to sprout 4 days later.
Used the rinse seed method, then soak in 10% salt water for 5 minutes and then rinse and soak in water for about 15 minutes.
Mostly Black, White, common, and Buddha is what I have. So far so good. And by looking at the photo, you can see I am no expert.

One question if anyone would know, am I going to run into trouble by having these in the actual ground at 2 weeks old and are they too close together to thrive. Water is no problem.

More photos ...
These are common bamboo about 2 weeks after sprouting.

Hi nomauer00, thanks for uploading the pics at the gallery.
(The pics and captions have been cross-linked into the first post of this thread at the forum)

Do you have any more info about the black, white and common bamboo?
If we can try and figure out the species types we can get a better idea of their potential growth habits.

Am I going to run into trouble by having these in the actual ground at 2 weeks old and are they too close together to thrive?.

Autumn in the south US provides cooler temperatures for seedling propagation.
The will need protection if the temperatures get near freezing.

Unless you want to grow a mixed clump (which would be interesting), you'll need to move some seedlings as you can.

I should've used the actual names of the bamboo. My white should be Dendrocalamus minor, black is gigantochloa atro violacea, common is vulgaris.
Thanks Mark and I am so glad to find a site like this. These seeds were from Germany off of e-bay. Lee
