I just picked up ten new ones! Cost me $400 but Im still excited.
I got Borinda boliana (score!), Borinda angustissima, Himalayacalamus falconeri 'Damarapa' (candy stripe) Thamnocalamus crassinodus 'Merlyn', Semiarundinaria okuboi, Pleioblastus argenteostriatus, Fargesia robusta, Chusquea culeou, Chusquea culeou 'Roja' (red) and Chusquea andina. That brings me up to 57 species and one mystery. I'll have to get some pics for you guys to drool over :)

Yup, you got me drooling ;) ... especially as I would have to up and move to a better climate to grow most of these beauties.
Pleeease do take pics.
(I'll add new categories to the gallery to accommodate these species pics, however which way you wish to post them)
Cheers,
Mark
PS I did get a small Semiarundinaria okuboi (http://www.bamboocraft.net/bamboo/showgallery.php?cat=816&ppuser=1) a couple weeks ago :)
Now to figure out where I can let it romp and roam.

Yeah, Oregon is like bamboo heaven. Perfect climate. They even grow Moso there with little problems. Maybe it's because they are closer to home! (Asia)

Moso grows here but doesn't reach the size that it does in Asia, the southern states have some huge moso groves. and by the way Im up to 60 now

I think I've got 8 now. I can really only grow 4 of them outside, the other 4 wouldn't last PA Winters. I'm still gonna try the moso here although. Just need to luck out with a super mild winter, to help it establish.
Phyllostachys aureosulcata (yellow groove)
Phyllostachys bissetii
Fargesia Rufa
Phyllostachys heteroclada
and
Phyllostachys edulis (pubescens)
Bambusa Arundinacea (Spiny Bamboo)
Dendrocalamus Strictus
Dendrocalamus Membranaceus
And yes, Mark, I know some of these names have changed. I think it sucks they change so much!
