With an interest in bamboo, I have cultivated it in 3 acres of my farm and now I want to value add to it. I have SH group of about 10 woman near the farm and would like to set up a small cottage industry to process bamboo to provide daily job to the folk.

I am unable to devote lot of time to this activity in its day to day activity but do not mind setting up the facility for the poor ladies.

I would appreciate details/processes etc.

thanks

with best wishes

ravi.

Hi Ravi,
What types(s) of bamboo you are growing?
We would enjoy seeing pictures of your bamboo.
If you have any pics you can upload them with your post.
(Use Manage Attachments displayed below message text box)

Have you determined what types of products to make?
There are so many things that can be made from bamboo, and India certainly has a long history in the utilization of bamboo.

Tools and equipment needed will also depend on the products being made.

Much can be done with fairly simple hand tools or small machinery, though of course the quality of work will depend on available skills or will require hands-on training.
