Garage sale two years ago...seller told me it was a "bonsaii bamboo" I'd about forgotten about it in the pot grove at work. Max height seems to be about 6", hasn't really filled the pot in the twenty-four months I've had it. Needs LOTS of water or curls and sheds.

I find these green ground cover types to be real brain teasers to ID, especially when they are container grown.
Apparently the difference between Pleioblastus distichus and Pleioblastus pygmaeus is that Pl. pygmaeus leaves have hairy undersides.
Does this help to eliminate at least one species?

Meant to look under a leaf today; I'll pick the plant up this weekend. I've wanted to split this up into tiny pots for awhile.

No hair on the undersides that I can see...I'll look again when I get prescription glasses next month.:cool:

Hey, That looks like Pleioblastus Pumilus. Ill post a pic of mine when I get some batteries in the camera and you can compare them.
