View Full Version : Fargesia nitida 'Jiuzhaigou' - Red Fountain Bamboo

I broke down and purchased one of the big-priced "red fountains", it is suposed to be one of the defunct blue fountain's new generations (F. nitida).
It seemed a good idea to get into propagation of this one on the ground floor.

Cool! Looks like this could be a real winner.
Now if only I lived on a non existing high mountain bluff here in central Texas maybe I could grow it. :(

Does the tag say what height it might grow to?
I see the old generation of F. nitida species/ cultivars can vary anywhere from 6ft (2M) to 18ft (6M).

This was the nursery that my plant came from; average height said to be about 10'.
