Hi,
I need to hang a bamboo pole to be used as curtain pole. I will hang it outside the window frame, directly on the wall.
My question is : what to use as clamps? the majority of stores I visited they do not carry big regular clamps (1 or 1 1/4"), they just carry the clamps together with the wood or metal set to hang curtains.
I was thinking in using another accessory such as a pipe's clamp. but I don't think is a good idea.

Could you please help me with that?

thank you!, and congratulations for the page/forum! :)

Hi Mercedes,
Here's some ideas for hanging your bamboo curtain rod.

- (Easy) Use 2 large screw hooks that have a hook the size that will fit the bamboo.
There are many types and sizes available.
It is possible to pry out/make a smaller hook larger if you can't find a suitable size, and galvanized hooks can also be painted or sprayed a suitable color.

You can use small metal shelf brackets and . ..
- tie on the rod (either on top of or suspended from the bracket) with attractive string or cord
- screw a piece of wood on the top of the bracket, with a cut out an inset for the rod to set in.
- (more complex) Get a slightly longer flat metal shelf bracket, and using a hammer, place the bracket end on a pipe, gradually tapping the end of the bracket till it forms an upward curve (to prevent the rod from falling off).

- There are also a number of ways to cut out wooden brackets that either have a curved notch or a side hole cut into each bracket to fit the rod.

I'm sure thare are a lot of other ways to hang your bamboo curtain rod, but this is a start.
.
Also do a google search for curtain hangers or curtain brackets for more ideas.

Cheers,
Mark
