Beautiful shot of the shoots glenn!
If your camera is able to take larger pics and if you can get any closeups of the shoots and branching habit, it would be most helpful.

I have a small photography business aside from the day job, so equipment is not a problem; I just need to learn how to shift from macro to micro!
I'll break out a tripod tomorrow and try to get some good closeups.
Thank you for the help, I've at least six bamboos I can't identify.

Excellent! The more pics the merrier. We can always sort out the best pics for the gallery later.
If you can increase the pixel size that would be helpful too.
Though the gallery has a limit of 300K/pic and auto reduces the pics to 1024 pixels max, there is no limit in post attachments and they can later be reduced accordingly.

I've at least six bamboos I can't identify.
Cool! I love the mystery of bamboo ID, albiet I am only familiar with a small % of the many many bamboos.
Shoot pics are an important aspect of bamboo ID, and after their emergence period is over ... requires waiting a whole year before the opportunity returns to get pics of them.
So get pics of your bamboo shoots (and other boo parts) when you can.
These will also be very helpful for others on a quest to ID their bamboo.

Cheers,
Mark

It's raining this morning, so I'm dodging the drops.
These have not been resized and are only slightly compressed.

Hi Glenn,
This is the species I think may be Phyllostachys nigra 'Henon'
Again, check the older culms to verify that there are no brown blotches or black colorations forming on the culm surface.

I had inadverdently first posted into your other post thinking it may be the same species:
unknown "timber bamboo" (Ans P.n. 'Henon') (http://www.bamboocraft.net/forums/showthread.php?t=2563)

I still think that they "may" be the same bamboo species.

I'm always more than happy to culmcede that I made a boo boo ;)

I've been looking back and forth at these two all weekend and you may very well be correct. Looks like this fall one of them is destined to be divided up into pots!
