What exactly are you doing? Do you let it drain? How often do you water? etc.
I've been using rock wool, but that can get pricey. I've been looking for a cheaper way to mass germinate seeds.

I just used clean play sand. I water them once a day, and transplant them after they come up (Have anywhere from 4-6 leaves).
I've gotten them to start using a wet paper towel in a zip lock back. Once the root starts I transplant them to dirt.
I just use soil from outside in the yard.
Thus far, lack of humidity does not effect these yet. I agree, the bigger the pot the better.
Some of mine are starting to get their second and third shoots.

If you do that, peel them out first. The sheath that they are in will cause fungus and mildew.

Hmmm, my post got moved and it wasn't really about moso. Oh well.
Why didn't you leave them in the sand?

Seems like a good idea. As long as you drain it and use some Flora Shield to keep it disease free. Though I still recommend that you soak the seeds for 24 hrs in some distilled water.
