From: "Jo...just... Jo..."

greetings everybody,

i'm trying to use chinese decorative lantern framework methods to make a pair of sculptural wings... (they need to be as organic as possible)

now i don't know how many of you know a great deal about decorative lantern making, but they are made of thin strips (about 1/16 - 1/8 in thickness) of bamboo (der! ^_^)

unfortunately i have a bit of a time constraint on this project (as it is for an independent study art class) so i don't have time to split my own bamboo...and i'm not very good at it either :(... the strips come out all mis-width-ith and i need very nice uniform strips because i'm counting on this wing project to be put into a county-wide art gallery for h.s. students

so... does anybody know of any mail-order/online/offline store that might sell pre-split bamboo (my dad suggested taking apart bamboo blinds -_-*) or would anybody want to split bamboo for me and i'll pay them for materials/work?

thanks!

~jo

Jo,
I was just talking with a guy local to Austin who wants to do some work with split bamboo.
I can split and send to you, but I don't know about being able to meet your time frame.

Give details on dimensions, quantity
