Hello,
I invite you to come to a workday at the Bamboo Grove on the Town Lake Trail on Saturday, April 22, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, as part of the Austin Parks Foundation's "It's My Park" Day. We'll be grooming the grove near Barton Springs (behind Wanfu 2) that was recently restored to beauty by Jim Phillips of Bamboo Specialists. I am Jayne Willingham, and was fortunate enough to "adopt" the grove during the Town Lake Trail Foundation's annual Adopt-a-Garden Auction. We will have drinks and snacks on hand, and those who register through the Austin Parks Foundation website will receive a free t-shirt. You can call APF at 477-1566 or go to www.austinparks.org to register. If you do the bamboo grove is project #12826. You can email me (jdwilling@akamail.com) if you have any questions. Or, you can just show up at the grove with your pruners, loppers, and handsaws. We will have a good time working together and it will feel great to help maintain the grove, so please come and join us!
