Saturday, February 18, 2006 - ABS Southeast Chapter Annual Meeting
Bamboo Farm and Coastal Gardens Pavillon, Savannah, Georgia.

The meeting will begin at 9 am.
President Robby Russell will open the meeting.
Dr. Steve Garton, new director of the bamboo farm, will welcome us and talk about the farm and bamboo collection.
Adam Turtle will have a slide show and talk on "Earth Healing With Bamboo".
We will have our annual business meeting. Topics for discussion will include a memorial for Richard Waldron, future projects with the Bamboo Farm, upcoming meetings, and any other topics of interest.
We will have an "expert" panel to answer questions about bamboo.
12 noon - Break for Lunch
1 pm - Auction of plants and bamboo related items. The auction proceeds will be designated for the memorial project for Richard Waldron.
The remainder of the afternoon we will tour the bamboo groves.
Those attendees who will stay in Savannah on Saturday night will probably gather for supper at a local seafood restaurant.
Note: Two tentative dates for cleanup days at the USDA bamboo collection at Byron, GA.
They are Sat. March 25 and Sat. Oct. 21. Both would start at 9 am and run all day. The date will be posted as soon as it is final.
Directions to Bamboo Farm & Gardens:
- From Interstate 95 take Exit #94.
- Bottom of ramp, take Route 204 East.
- Go about 300 feet and make a right at the first red light. A Hardee's will be on your right and
an Exxon will be on the left.
- Go about 150 feet and make left on Canebrake Road. A La Quinta motel will be on the right
and a Sonic and Best Value Inn will be on the left.
- Stay on Canebrake Road until dead-ends, which is about 1- 1/2 miles.
- Make a left on US 17 and the entrance to the Bamboo Farm will be on the left about 100 feet.
