Hey ho, how does it go?
It has been nearly 30 years since I worked with BIG bamboo.
Most of what I have worked with has been bamboo of diameters less than 2"diameter. This is about the largest that grew in my region (NE US).
I live further south now, with access to larger bamboo, Phyllostachys pubescens (Moso), and P.nigra henonis (Henon Bamboo).

Working with the big stuff really makes one get in the sculptural mood, enhanced further if you can get your hand and tools inside the boo. following are some pieces that I have been working on, most ranging from 3-5+ inches in diameter.
The processes that I use to expand the boo may increase the diameter additionally by 1-2 inches...more on this later...

Enjoy!

Here's 3 more bamboo sculptures...
Each one is a single continuous piece, though one picture, (#006-3) shows two pieces fit together, at about a meter/yd tall, plus florals.
...will edit in details later...
