Tying harvested Phyllostachys aurea poles - Blanco TX USA

At times there's no time to trim off the branches before taking the poles home, or maybe the branches are wanted for some other uses.
Following is how I reduce a big springy pile of Phyllostachys poles down to transportable bundles.

Picnic table benches are the ideal height to work from.

Straddling the bottom end of the bundle, I use sisal twine, wrapping it around the base several times and tie one end of the twine to a pole to secure the bottom end. I usually use 3 double arm lengths (about 6ft/2M X 3) of sisal and repeat the process as I need more lengths of twine ...

Sitting on the bundle and compressing the pile with my legs, I begin wrapping the twine around the bundle.
