Hi all,
Glad to have stumbled upon this site. We have bamboo in our yard and perhaps we'll now find some uses for it! :)

Okay, now for my question. I am restoring an antique bamboo table that previously had a sort of woven grass or cane fabric top on it. I need to find a source for this fabric and I tell you, it hasn't been easy! Here's a link to the type of table I am talking about and you will see the fabric on the top of the table and though it's a bit dirty, hopefully someone will know what I am looking for and can point me in the right direction! TIA!

Hi, nice bamboo table!
The description says the top is covered with woven rattan, which is not bamboo, but a species of Palm that grows like a vine.

Here's a list of links to:
Bamboo Poles and Raw Materials Suppliers (http://www.bamboocraft.net/poles_raw_materials.html) - USA

A few suppliers carry woven bamboo panels, and some carry rattan products. There are numerous weave sizes and patterns, but they may not be the right match.
Apart from this ...
- there are basketry suppliers who supply rattan cane, and maybe some might have prewoven pieces used for seating in furniture making.
- I've seen fine woven rattan screens used as room dividers ... if you could find one at the right price that could be used for your table.
