Bamboo Picture Art?

Hi Harlan,
I would love to find out that this was made from bamboo. It certainly could be made from bamboo, and I feel this is an area of artistic expression with plenty of opportunity to explore.

Several months ago another individual contacted me who had something similar, but they were floral designs.
I suggested to the person to post the pictures into the forums, but it never happened.
Somewhere in the depths of my email folder I still have the contact, and when I have time I'll see if I can find it.
I had expressed the same feeling that it would be very difficult to confirm that it is indeed bamboo without close examination, probably aided by a microscope.
In addition to bamboo, there are other grasses (non bamboo), that have similar characteristics, as well as parts of palm leaves, and other plants parts.

Hopefully someone will read this and will be able to enlighten us of the history, time, place where these works were made, and who made them - if each were originals made by individual artists or a production item made during a certain time in history ...
