If you have a bamboo and you don't know it's identity, you can ask here. (start a new thread)

In time we will be providing keys and guidelines to help in identifying your bamboo.
Meanwhile check out the Gallery: Bamboo Flora (http://www.bamboocraft.net/bamboo/index.php) as you may find a species there that resembles your bamboo.

Still cannot ID your bamboo? Ask here.

Start a New Thread (new topic), for each bamboo plant in question.
You can upload photos but please keep them below 400K each if possible.
If you can't resize your images, no problem, we can resize them for you.

If you need further assistance, ask.

Please note that bamboo identification can be difficult .
Many species have very similar or subtle differences.
Immature plants can look quite different to a mature planting and often it's necessary to closely examine specific parts of the bamboo that may only be visible during a short period of a year.
For instance bamboo shoots and culm sheaths, are very important for identifying species within a genus.
If you have a digital camera, take a lot of pics, then pick out some of the best to show.
Poor quality pics uploaded will eventually be deleted and best pics will be moved to your gallery at Bamboo Flora, hopefully to benefit others who will most definitely be travelling down this road of lost nomenclature in the future.

So take those new shoots pics when you can - you might have to wait a whole year before you have another chance.
A small immature bamboo plant may need several years of growth before it's identity can be clearly confirmed.
