I hope this will be useful to the beginners in bamboo world. It is very difficult to see this if we are not near a forest, with many clumps together. In this case, only one of all plantation was flowered and logically, died. I got this samples in a visit to - Instituto Jatobás - Pardinho - SP- Brazil, last jun/05.

A beautiful farm with a very large kinds of bamboos with people working hard to preserve and cultivate giant bamboos and others species too. I got a lot of pics from this place to show if have someone interested.
Please, see pics in Dendrocalamus latiflorus gallery (http://www.bamboocraft.net/bamboo/showgallery.php?cat=509&ppuser=1356).

Thanks again for showing these pics!
Have you tried germinating any of the seeds yet?

We'd love to hear about the Instituto Jatobás
