Bamboo Events Desk

Hi there. If anyone is in the Auckland area on the 22nd May, please come along:
Bamboo is the topic for May.
Mark Mortimer will be running 2 workshops on the 22 May showing how to make a simple bamboo water feature. He will also conduct a tour through Landsendt showing different types of bamboo, how to dry it, tools to use etc. Japanese tools will be available for sale on the day. The session will finish with coffee and cake at The Tropical House.
Mark is incredibly knowledgeable and creative with anything bamboo. His skills are on display here with a bamboo couch in the tropical house and also the poles around the deck. He also has on display his screens which are so much nicer than the regular run of the mill 'oriental' trellis that everyone seems to be into at the moment.
Bamboo is such a versatile material. It's cheap, readily available and the scope for its uses are huge. NZrs haven't embraced it as they have in Asia but what is there to stop us. Our Tropical House is a good example of what can be done.
Take this opportunity to find out and learn more about BAMBOO.
When: Sunday May 22nd 10am - 12noon and 2pm - 4pm
How Much: $25.00 pp
Booking essential.
