Want to plant a hedge approx. 3x25ft., about 25 ft. high. Love the running, thick bamboo, but don't know which will grow here with the high heat (115). Anyone can help, and also where to buy locally? Thanks!!

Hi Christina,
A couple species that do well under hot dry Texas conditions are Semiarundinaria fastuosa (http://www.bamboocraft.net/bamboo/showgallery.php?cat=2)
Another species that appears very drought and heat tolerant here is Phyllostachys elegans (http://www.bamboocraft.net/bamboo/showgallery.php?cat=545)
I have also heard that Phyllostachys mannii (syn. P.decora) has done well in Nevada.
I'm sure a number of other species will do well if given supplemental supplemental watering.
Some, like black bamboo (Phyllostachys nigra) need some shade during the hottest part of the day or their leaves yellow by the middle of summer, and won't reach the height you desire. The leaves green up again in the autumn.
I haven't heard of any bamboo plant sources in Nevada. Please let us know if you find any.
There's a source in Arizona. See this thread... Growing Bamboo in Arizona (http://www.bamboocraft.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1082)
And there are a number of bamboo sources in California.
