Hello I am new to bamboo and new to this site. We live in Dallas Texas which is zone 8a and I want to grow some bamboo in a large ceramic pot outdoors. I don't even know the bamboo "language" so hang in there with me :-)
Ideally it would not be to bushy or too tall, something I could manicure would be nice. Several "stems" would be preferred to a thick, heavy bush. I can put it in an area where it will be fully shaded, partially shaded or mostly sunshine, whichever would be best.
The ceramic pot is probably close to 1.5 - 2 feet deep and I'd like for the bamboo to not be over 6 feet tall, 2-4 feet would be better. I want to place it in a new garden with jasmine, lillies, Mexican river rocks (blueish), and a Japanese Maple. I have everything but the bamboo.
I'd appreciate any ideas and advice, links too. Thanks!
Chris
